Hand Therapy is a specialised area of physiotherapy focused on the assessment and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper limb. These structures are complex, highly specialised, and essential to how we work, care for others, and move through daily life.
We are an ACC-approved provider and hold the ACC Hand Therapy contract, which covers hand, wrist, and elbow injuries. Our hand therapists have postgraduate training in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, allowing us to offer expert assessment and treatment for both acute and complex conditions.
Treatment may include:
• Comprehensive hand and upper limb assessment
• Custom splinting and orthotic fabrication
• Hand-specific rehabilitation programmes
• Wound and post-operative management
• Scar management and desensitisation

Chronic Pain Physiotherapy
Chronic pain is different from acute pain and requires a different approach. When pain persists beyond normal healing time, it reflects changes in how the nervous system processes and protects, rather than ongoing tissue damage.
Our chronic pain management approach is holistic, evidence-informed, and person-centred. Our therapists have undertaken additional training in pain science and nervous system regulation, allowing us to support people with persistent, complex, or life-limiting pain.
Treatment may include:
• Pain-informed assessment
• Education to understand persistent pain
• Graded movement and exposure
• Nervous system regulation strategies
• Manual therapy where appropriate
• Support with flare-ups and setbacks
Our goal is to help restore confidence in movement, reduce fear, and support meaningful participation in life.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a treatment approach rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and supported by modern pain science. It is used to help regulate the nervous system, reduce pain, and support the body’s natural healing processes.
Acupuncture may assist with pain modulation, muscle tension, circulation, relaxation, and recovery. It is often integrated into a broader physiotherapy treatment plan.
Treatment is gentle, respectful, and tailored, using fine sterile needles with clear explanation and consent at every step.
